The Philippine Society of Nephrology (PSN) has bestowed the prestigious Presidential Service Award upon Boehringer Ingelheim (Philippines), Inc. This recognition was presented during the Annual Convention Opening Ceremony held on April 24, 2025, acknowledging the company’s significant contribution to the Kidney Disease Management for Primary Care Physicians (KDM4PCP) program.
The KDM4PCP initiative is designed to equip primary care physicians with crucial knowledge and the most current evidence-based guidelines necessary to effectively screen for, assess the risk of, and manage chronic kidney disease (CKD) in its early stages. A key component of this program was a two-day pre-convention scientific session held on April 22-23, 2025, at the Edsa Shangri-La Hotel.
The impact of the KDM4PCP program extends beyond Metro Manila. As part of the recent World Kidney Day celebration in March, a KDM4PCP session was also conducted in Zamboanga City. This outreach aimed to further bridge healthcare gaps in underserved areas, empowering more healthcare professionals to provide early and effective CKD care to communities where it is most needed.
Chronic kidney disease continues to affect millions of Filipinos, and Boehringer Ingelheim (Philippines), Inc. has demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing healthcare through initiatives like KDM4PCP. The program directly addresses the rising incidence of CKD and strives to improve patient outcomes throughout the Philippines.
