Trip.com Group has reaffirmed its commitment to building a more inclusive, sustainable, and resilient travel ecosystem with the release of its 2025 Sustainability Report and the introduction of a new global paid paternity leave policy.

Under the new policy, eligible employees will receive a minimum of 20 days of paid paternity leave, supplementing existing statutory entitlements. The initiative forms part of the Group’s broader sustainability strategy, which covers employee wellbeing, climate action, community development, and tourism innovation.

Guided by its “Friendly Four” framework—family-friendly, community-friendly, environmentally-friendly, and stakeholder-friendly, the Group highlighted key sustainability milestones achieved during the reporting period, including the validation of its near-term and net-zero greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and the launch of a US$100 million Tourism Innovation Fund.

“Travel connects people, cultures and communities, and we believe the future of travel must also create positive outcomes for the planet and society,” said Jane Sun, CEO of Trip.com Group. “Through our sustainability strategy, we are investing in our people, accelerating climate action and working with partners worldwide to build a more resilient tourism ecosystem.”

Supporting Families

Trip.com Group’s new global paternity leave policy builds on its existing family-friendly workplace initiatives. The first phase took effect on August 1 and covers selected Asian markets, including the Philippines, with additional regions expected to join in a second phase later this year.

In the Philippines, eligible employees will receive 13 additional days of fully paid paternity leave, increasing the existing seven-day entitlement to a minimum of 20 days. The expanded benefit is designed to give employees more time to share caregiving responsibilities while maintaining a better balance between work and family life.

The initiative complements Trip.com Group’s childcare support programs. Since its launch, the Group’s Childcare Subsidy has supported 2,038 families, while 1,114 employees benefited in 2025, representing an investment of approximately US$1.6 million. The Group also maintained a 100% return-to-work rate among female employees following maternity leave during the reporting period.

Trip.com Group continued to advance workplace diversity and inclusion, with women representing 33.1% of senior management positions, 52.3% of management roles in key revenue-generating functions, and 33.0% of STEM-related positions across the Group.

Empowering Communities Through Travel

The Group also continued initiatives aimed at making travel more accessible while supporting local communities and tourism businesses.

Through its “Trip for Everyone” project, Trip.com Group enhanced accessibility throughout the travel planning and booking experience through features such as improved colour contrast, scalable typography, screen-reader compatibility, and keyboard navigation. The initiative received an iF Design Award for helping travellers with diverse physical and situational needs navigate travel more independently.

Meanwhile, the Group expanded its Country Retreats programme, which supports local economic development through tourism. During the reporting year, the programme created more than 400 jobs and supported approximately 11,000 indirect employment opportunities. Over the past five years, the initiative has contributed to around 51,000 employment opportunities, with local employees accounting for at least 80% of staff across 12 properties.

Trip.com Group also upgraded its Global SOS Platform in 2025, expanding support to 24 languages and 20 travel emergency scenarios. By the end of the year, the platform had handled more than 23,000 assistance requests across over 100 destinations.

Advancing Climate Action

Environmental sustainability remains another key focus of Trip.com Group’s strategy.

The company became the first online travel company in Asia Pacific to have both its near-term and net-zero emissions reduction targets validated by SBTi, reinforcing its commitment to science-aligned climate action.

The Group also expanded its selection of lower-carbon travel products across accommodation, flights, car rentals, and rail. In 2025, 2.74 million users selected lower-carbon business travel options, contributing to 23.44 million lower-carbon travel bookings throughout the year.

Investing in the Future of Tourism

Trip.com Group is also investing in tourism innovation and destination development through partnerships and new initiatives.

At its 2025 Global Partner Conference, the Group launched its US$100 million Tourism Innovation Fund, designed to support innovative tourism projects and cross-sector collaborations focused on destination development and creating distinctive visitor experiences.

By the end of 2025, Trip.com Group offered more than 350,000 in-destination experiences worldwide, covering dining and shopping, day tours, attractions and performance tickets, and customized tours. These offerings provide local tourism partners with additional opportunities to connect with travellers while expanding the range of experiences available to visitors.

Through these initiatives, Trip.com Group continues to position sustainability as an integral part of its business and the wider travel ecosystem, with its 2025 Sustainability Report outlining its progress toward a more inclusive, sustainable, and resilient future for travel.
